FAQ's

How do I book a photography session with your team?
Where should we go?
Well, that is completely up to you! Finding the right location is key to creating portraits that feel true to you. Colorado offers an endless variety—majestic mountains, golden hour plains, vibrant cityscapes, and quiet forest trails. You can see some of those on my Locations page. I'll help you choose the perfect spot that fits your style and story but here are some helpful hints to consider.
- Do you have a deadline you’re working with?
Football programs, yearbook deadlines, sorority recruitment, slideshows? I know, I know, senior year hasn't even started yet, but it's best to get your session scheduled early before you become rushed to squeeze your session in!
- Are you on a sports team that has a “busy” season?
Being a sports mom, I know all about busy schedules. Get a clear idea on when your season starts and schedule your session 2-3 months in advanced. All your fellow athletes may be trying to schedule before their season starts too.
- Does foliage matter?
I love Colorado in every season. I am happy to photograph anytime of the year, but give good consideration on the look you are going for. Beautiful spring flowers, luscious green trees and fields, fall yellows, reds and golds, or snow capped mountains. Or we could say the heck with foliage, let's do a city style session!
- Do you prefer fall/winter clothes or spring/summer clothes?
If you love boots, scarfs, sweaters and leggings, book your session for October or November. If you love sundresses and springy rompers, July, August, September, snow capped mountains March, April or May. If you’re from Colorado, we all know that the weather here has a hard time making up its mind. It has been blistering hot in November and has snowed in May. Be prepared for both if you’re choosing months where the seasons are changing.
Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?
What do we wear?
Create at least 3 basic looks.
The more outfits you bring to your photo shoot, the more options and styling flexibility you’ll have within your session. You’ll want a minimum of 3 head-to-toe looks:
- Parent Pleaser - This is the one you know they’ll love showing off for years to come. Think a crisp shirt and great jeans, with nice shoes and classic accessories for a timeless look.
- Senior's Choice - What’s the most “you” thing you do? Bring along your musical instrument, a paint palette or another object that shows off your most important personal interest.
- Activities - From sports to chess club, your activities make up a big part of your high school experience. Bring a team jersey, danceline costume or favorite debate duds to commemorate your achievements.
- Girls! I know how fun it can be to get dressed to the 9's so if your feeling a bit fancy, a long flowing dress that can stream in the wind or float down the creek is always fun to photograph!
- Make sure clothes are clean and wrinkle-free. (Drop off items for drycleaning 1-2 weeks ahead of time.)
And don't worry, I got you covered with changing. I have a changing tent along with a wagon that you can toss everything in, so if you're second guessing if you should bring this or that, I say bring it!
